Cupping therapy dates back thousands of years, with evidence pointing to its use as early as 3500 BCE in ancient Egypt, and around 1550 BCE in documented Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern medical practices.
Cupping therapy uses suction cups placed on the skin to increase blood flow, relax muscles, and promote healing by lifting the tissue, which helps relieve pain, inflammation, and muscle tension, often used for back, neck, and knee pain, though research is ongoing. It works by creating suction that dilates blood vessels, bringing oxygen and nutrients to tissues, and flushing out waste products.

Keep in mind that you will likely exhibit round bruises following this session. It varies from person to person and depending on the session and area treated. The bruises may last a few days or up to a couple of weeks.

Cupping is thought to release tissues deep inside the body, relax tense muscles and ease stiffness associated with chronic back and neck pains, migraines, rheumatism, and fatigue. Some athletes have been known to use cupping therapy to naturally improve performance and reduce stiffness, muscle cramps, joint pains and scar tissue caused by injuries.

Cupping often allows people to enter a more relaxed state since it calms the central nervous system (CNS). Wich can lower stress responses and therefore offers protection against anxiety and depression.
